Stars are objects that consist of hydrogen gas, in the core of all stars fusion happens. At giant stars this fusion happens all the way to iron, then the core explodes in a supernova. At all sunlike stars this procces happens untill all is become Helium, then the star grows to several hundred times its normal size before the outer layers create a planetary nebula and the core of the star becomes a dence white dwarf. In red dwarf stars this process happens very slowly and after a very long time the red dwarf becomes a white dward. Red dwarf are quite small, a tenth to one fourth of the size of the sun.
